Pan-African Tech Foundation to host Binance-sponsored Francophone boot camp

LEADING global blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, Binance, is sponsoring a boot camp for Francophone Africans as it continues in its mission to drive blockchain adoption and enable greater financial accessibility for Africans.

Hosted by UK-based Pan-African Tech Foundation (PATF), the virtual boot camp takes place on  February 25 under the slogan ‘Leave no African behind’. It will be the first in a series of language-specific boot camps for the year, ensuring full coverage of the continent and its major linguistic groups.

PATF was established to transform Africa through technology and implements its ‘Africa strategy’ through virtual boot camps, targeting Africans in the 13 to 35 age group keen to learn about emerging digital technologies. The programme will be run by PATF’s Francophone Country Leads Erwin N’Guetta (Côte d’Ivoire) and Gwenael Nze de Souza (Gabon).

The agenda for the day will include an introduction to Blockchain, an introduction to AI and a session on Entrepreneurship led by the inspirational co-founder of Hub Africa, Zakaria Fahim. PATF’s country reps for Madagascar, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Burundi, Comoros, Mauritius, Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo, Cameroon, Chad, Republic of Congo, DRC, Gabon and the Central African Republic will come together to hold panel discussions on topics that directly affect their local communities and their development.

Carine Dikambi (Francophone Lead, Binance) remarked, ‘To accelerate sustainable development on the African continent, the role of digital technologies cannot be over-emphasised. As such, we at Binance are happy to support PATF’s mission to transform Africa through technology. It is also clear that the potential of Francophone Africa to be a core part of this development is endless. We are committed to ensuring that more people have access to the right information and tools to utilise digital assets and blockchain.’

Binance continues to be at the forefront of blockchain education, ensuring enthusiasts are well equipped with all the right information. Its education series aimed at increasing crypto literacy in Africa, the Binance Masterclass, kicked off in January 2020, providing education ranging from crypto trading to careers in blockchain. Since then, Binance has provided free crypto education to over 540,000 Africans.
