THE Ugandan government on Sunday said it will arrest any group that intends to cause chaos between February 3-7.
Judith Nabakooba, minister of information, communication, technology and national guidance said in a tweet that there is information that some people are planning to cause chaos on the said days.
‘They are moving around spreading harmful propaganda that the country will shut down during those days,’ she said, noting that they are intimidating taxi drivers and the public against being on the road and places of work during those days.
‘I call upon anyone to disassociate themselves from this evil plan. The country is safe and security will work fast to arrest anyone planning to create chaos,’ the minister said.
Security agencies have previously warned that all those intending to cause chaos will regret their lives.
Prior to and after the January 14 presidential elections, the police and military held foot and motorised patrols in the capital Kampala and major towns across the east African country.
